NOTES ON DANIEL CHAPTER 2: 1-30

2:1-- The second year of King Nebuchadnezzar-- approximately 604 B.C.

2:2-- “magicians, conjurers, the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans” -- the Magi

2:4-- Aramaic was the dominant spoken language in Babylon, as well as most of the entire world at this point in history. From 2:4 to the end of Chapter 7, the Book of Daniel is written in Aramaic. 2:19-23: A prayer to God in which Daniel acknowledges that God and God alone is the source of all wisdom, knowledge, and power.

2:26-- Belteshazzar-- the new Babylonian name Nebuchadnezzar gave to Daniel which means, “Bel, protect my life!”
